OCTA: What's Next?
Economic Stimulus package has allocated federal dollars
for infrastructure projects
On Tuesday, President Obama signed the $787 billion “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act,” a sweeping economic stimulus package aimed at creating jobs and strengthening our nation’s deteriorating financial situation. The plan will create or save 3.5 million jobs nationwide by the end of 2010.
Fair Share for Orange County
It is estimated that if Orange County receives its fair share of federal dollars, thousands of those much-needed jobs will be allocated for roads, mass transit and other infrastructure improvements in our county — putting construction managers, project managers, civil engineers, computer-aided drafting specialists and telecommunications engineers back to work.
Come hear Tom Bogard, P.E., Director of Highway Programs, Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) speak about “what’s next." Tom leads the capital development program for the Orange County Transportation Authority, one of the ten largest transportation agencies in the nation. He is responsible for managing the engineering and construction of highway projects for the $12 billion Renewed Measure M half-cent sales tax program.
