Orange County Business Council
Kris Murray serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs for the Orange County Business Council. She came to OCBC with more than 15 years experience in government affairs within both the public and private sector. In her role at OCBC, Kris represents Orange County’s business community in three strategic areas: Infrastructure, Workforce Housing, and Workforce Development.
Prior to her position with OCBC, Kris served the Orange County Transportation Authority by directing the authority’s legislative agenda in Washington D.C. In this capacity, Kris secured hundreds of millions in federal funding for vital countywide and regional transportation projects. She also led a statewide transportation industry coalition to lock in billions annually in Proposition 42 funding and prevent any further cuts to state transportation programs.
Kris has a degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master’s Certificate in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University. Kris serves as an appointed member of the Anaheim Public Utilities Board and as an appointed member of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) executive committee representing the business community. She and her husband, Steve Murray, are residents of City of Anaheim and have one young son, Garrett.
