Title:
Where's the Work? Current and Future Construction Contracts Opportunities Available at the Metropolitan Water District
Speakers:
- Wally Lieu, Manager of Engineering, MWD
- Albert Napoli, Gov't & Regional Affairs for MWD
The Metropolitan Water District Southern California has over $300 million dollars in construction contracts at any one time. Project sizes range from large to small and may cover anything from the large scale construction of a water treatment plant to the rehabilitation of a facility roof. MWD is committed to create an environment which affords all individuals and businesses open access to the business opportunities available. We are pleased to have Wally Lieu, Interium Manager of Engineering for WMD bring us up-to-date on all contract opportunities currently available.
Joining Mr. Lieu on the 12th of May will be Albert Napoli, Government & Regional Affairs for MWD. The Department of Water Resources' (DWR) fourth snow survey of the winter season indicates snowpack water content is 81 percent of normal for the date, statewide. A below-average snowpack at this time of year, especially following two consecutive dry years is a cause for concern. Mr. Napoli will provide us with an update regarding the state of the water crisis in California as well as ways that we can all get involved and work towards a long-term solution.
