TITLE
"Orange County - In the Herd or Best of Breed?"
How Orange County Has Been Handling the Current Economic Climate and Why it Matters to You and Your Business
Speakers: John Moorlach, Orange County Supervisor, 2nd District
Orange County will lead Southern California out of the recession with a slowly improving economy next year and healthy growth in 2011, predict the economic forecasters at Cal State Long Beach in a report released today. But first Orange County will have to slog through another tough year. "We believe that economic conditions will start to look considerably better by 2010," said the forecast. "Furthermore, we predict that Orange County will be the best-performing area in the region by 2011, as a real recovery finally gets under way." By 2011, the forecast projects Orange County will get its mojo back, growing by nearly 21,000 jobs, a 1.4% increase.
Come join us in an enlightening discussion on today's economy as we welcome John Moorlach, Orange County Supervisor, as our June speaker. Moorlach's community involvements include being a member of the Old Courthouse Museum society, Orange County Historical Society, the Christian Business Men's Committee's Government Leadership Prayer Breakfast Honorary Board, honorary membership in the Noble Viking Charities of Orange County, and Advisory Committee member for Defend the Bay and the Orange County Freedom Committee. He served as the Honorary Chairman of the 1999 Annual Campaign for the Costa Mesa Senior Center, and has been active in fund-raising efforts on behalf of the Asian-American Senior Citizens Service Center.
